CAMBRIA magazine Colic Confusions

.
The last issue of Cambria Magazine Vol 10 No 5 was quite a radical departure from what had become a rather boring almost ‘Country Quest’ norm over the past year. What with articles by John Jenkins and John Humphries on Freedom Fighters although I very much doubt if you will find many of those on the staff of Cambria Magazine, by that I mean roll up your sleeves kind of thing and go into action! Maybe a few of them as Robert Hinton have pulled down a few English Language signs in the ‘’Sixties’’ and we all know that Gareth Lockwood climbed up a TV mast but otherwise, pity he did not stay there?
.
Although I have heard Henry Jones Davies, Founder of Cambria Magazine wishes he had been around in the ‘sixties’ but he wasn’t of course, but no problem he can relive it all on the steps of Castell Caernarfon this coming 1st July 2009. That is unless he's got a really good excuse to be somewhere else that day, maybe having lunch with his new 'Celtfest Freind' none other than the Lord Protector Dafydd Ellis Thomas himself? The same goes for much of what could be called a self styled Nationalist ''Intelligentsia/Intellectuals'' who have thrown in their lot with this magazine and become ‘Cambrianistas’ , Or otherwise have generally become, part of the grant stuffed ‘cultural colonial establishment’ over these past 40 years, as Meic Stephens himself who post ’69, soon forgot he had once wrote rebel songs to match every bit Harri Webb’s rebel poetry, some may now call a teeny weenie bit ‘’racist’’ (not me!).
.
I very much doubt if any of they above are really up for a good old scrap other than scrapping sign posts! So I am not surprised when in this latest Vol 10 No 6 issue of Cambria Magazine that Meic Stephens has a go at John Humphries for mentioning that Patriotic Bard Harri Web was mixed up with MAC. Meic let us know why he knows better that he was not, because he lived with Harri for four years and is the executor of Webb’s writings, from radical romantic republicanism to medieval mysteries, he both politically inspired and confused with his ‘Romantic Republicanism’ most of us young patriots back in the day, more than anyone else perhaps. But Harri Webb a member of MAC seemingly not according to Meic Stephens, as if he was? he sure as hell did not tell Meic ,and Meic considers he would have if he were. NB: This matter is continued with in a post over on my AWNM&S Archive blog.
.
So what else is interesting in latest issue of Cambria to politically confuse Patriots more than they are already politically confused. How’s about the Editorial (did Francis really write this?) which as much to say about the Wind milling of Wales, fair play Cambria's position statement on this is good, very sound. Credit where credit is due!
.
Please note Cambria Colic Comments will continue in time in the following blogs:

* Terry Breverton Letter p6 Cambria: On issue of Windmills See Welsh Patriot blog post: More Tilting at Windmills. In the mean time see my post on this subject calling for a .May Spring BH all Wales National Rally against the Wind milling of Wales Assembling at Cofiwn memorial near Nant y Moch Reservoir. Followed by walk to ‘Cerrig Cyfamod’ to mark anniversary of Battle of Hyddgen. There to make call for campaign against further desecration of our Welsh Heritage in the landscape, a subject I am enlarging on at present but will not be posted to blog until about mid May. In same letter Terry makes call for a New Political Party, for my comments on this, See Welsh Remembrancer blog post.

· Roystan ‘Jac’ Jones Oppinion p11 Cambria: ‘On Going Backwards Fast’, more of the same by the ‘anti – tourism’ man from Abergynolwyn, See Adfywiad Gwladgarol blog post. But to be honest he does have a few good points. However, calling for a ‘Campaign for Welsh Civil Rights’, is a rather bankrupt non – starter when what we need is my S.O.S. = Save Our Sovereignty. See my Sofraniaeth blog post.
·
Sion Jobbins p8 Cambria An article called ‘First Cousins’ on the Welsh and the Irish. Essentially an ‘Apologia’ for Welsh Patriotic political gutlessness and anti – Celtic racism toward the Irish, a rather cosy cultural view? . See Welsh Patriot blog post.
.
Whilst an article by Nigel Jarret on ‘The Myth of national identity in print’, simply gives me a reminder that I have on line for a blog post a major item on the Welsh Media. Cofia S4C and all that!. Further, worth a brief comment is a feature by John Vaughan ‘Edwinsford – a sad decay’ which concludes with a call for a new heritage organisation and new heritage strategy with the preservation and protection of old Welsh Mansions and historic house. But is that not what the National Trust and Civic Trust are in existence for, and already doing quite well? Further, famous Welsh architect Keith Griffiths, having returned to Wales is about to restore Roch Castle in Pembrokeshire and has ideas to do same with other historic Welsh properties. I would advise he was supported, than again go down separate avenues which already has been suggested twice in pages of latest issue of Cambria. I seriously suggest that there is much need for more unity in though, action and in patriotic writting in Wales rather than all these separate developments being put forward which simply serves no point at all other than distract, divert and weaken our struggle.

Flag Footnote:
.
The Cambria Dydd Dewi Foto Spread on four pages 67 – 71 shows how far its come from the days when Henry Jones Davies misled Cilmeri Patriots into helping him get started a ‘’nationalist’’ Dewi Day parade in Cardiff. It was not long before the White Eagle Flags came down and now it seems Baneri Glyndwr are on the ‘’banned’’ flags list too, as not one Glyndwr flag is seen in any of the aforementioned foto spread. All possibly done to make the parade more up for support (+ £ ?) of WAG and Cardiff Council. The latter sees it has a great tourist event and the former sees it has a boost to their 'Sham Senedd' pretence, and no doubt that is why Dewi Day Paraders are dragged all the way down to Bae Caerdydd to grovel before the ''waggers'' of the puppet Assembly of Appeasement with English Imperialism.
.
Not so strange though, as at first sight when I see all those Yellow Crosses of Saint David, I get to thinking of the National Front, why is that I wonder? Perhaps it’s just that cross style all to similar to the Cross of Saint George and its ‘Crusader Cross’ image? Would not use of a Celtic Cross be more appropriate for ‘Y Cymry’ to fly in association with their Patron Saint. After all our Celtic Crosses are well embedded in the Welsh Landscape and mind, and are associated with our ancient Celtic Christian Civilisation in Wales (see latest issue of Cambria p32.). The Baner Dewi yellow cross much favoured by Cambria is but as old as the Anglican Church disestablishment in 1922, and was borrowed from Lampeter College, hardly a great provenance whilst Baneri Glyndwr does have sound historical provenance, patriotically and politically.
.
Personal Post Script. Prior to writing this piece, thought I better check up on spelling ‘Colic’ (was there an ‘h’ in it?), anyways getting my Odhams Concise English Dictionary bought for my 21st birthday from my Nain (RIP). I found written on the inside front cover, something I had wrote there some years ago, a quote: ''Inside every idea is a kind of lament to failure, inside every failure the living spark of human inspiration''. Written by a Mediterranean writing to Massilia AD 366 – 482. Remember the Judge in my 1969 PF/FWA Trial, said I was a man who juggled ideas, I guess I must be very lament full then, but also thankfully very inspired! Inspired enough to say, patriots please, if we cannot see Wales put all the lights out to remember the Abergele Martyrs on 40th anniversary eve of their death on 30 June 1969. Then at the very least dear patriots , please light two Candles in your home and let them burn thru the night to morn of 1st July 2009, hence annually.
.
Cofiwch’69: If planning to place floral tributes on graves of Merthyron Abergele on the 1st, (2nd, 3rd) or 4th July 2009, please do so at 12: noon followed by two minutes silence. During the afternoon please make way to Caernarfon Castle to place small wooden ‘Ivy’ Cofia 1282 Crosses at Castle Gate. Please pass this very important announcement on, far and wide by all possible means. Do note, I shall be placing Merthyron Abergele tributes on all my blogs for the month of July 2009 and up to then my AWNM&S Archive blog will carry posts telling much on the story of the Adfywiad'69 Struggle against another Investiture of another Englishman as Prince of Wales. NO TIME FOR PETITIONS IN THAT YEAR!!!
.
PS: See other earlier March Posts up already on other blogs ok! ………..
