THE CAMBRIAN NATION and the Caernarfon Investiture of 1911. Against Background of 1910 - 1911 Cambrian Colliery Lockout & Llanelli Riots.

.
For the low down on Edwardian Wales 1910 and the 1911 Coronation and Investiture against background of the1910 - 1911 Cambrian Combine Lockout - Tonypandy Riots and the 1911 Llanelli Riots, read below book. In particular note Introduction and Chapter Six Red Dragon and Red Flag also read Chapter 11 We'll Keep a Welcome for Investiture 1969. This book illuminates certain truths, in particular the fact that rural Wales was more up for English Royalty's Coronation and Investiture than the 'Socialist South'. Llanelli and Merthyr being major hot beds of Anti - Monarchist Radical Protests. Perhaps not surprisingly again in 1969, it was from the South that the most radical Anti - Investiture Activists came.

Today, exercising my mind is a visit to Caernarfon and it's Castle by Elizabeth II of England and despite Caernarfon being in what has been desribed as the 'Cymry Cymraeg Cymric Heartland', so far there has been no call for Nationalist Protests (compare with Quebec). Indeed it seems that 'Y Cymry Cymraeg' of Gwynedd today are only up to writting and reading poetry about their long dead Native Princes and not demonstrate against an English Monarchy that has stolen the claim of native Princes of Gwynedd to have sovereignty over Wales. Why you may ask? I shall answer this in near future in my blog The Welsh Patriot, for now read on....

I am not calling for Welsh Patriots to follow in footsteps of Madog but maybe a little protest at least when the English Queen visits Caernarfon on 27 April 2010 again to commemorate 40th anniversay of the 1969 Investiture. If you are up for some protest visit my blog: Welsh Remembrancer and, think about a Demo against the English Monarchy in Wales, not least great opportunity for Cambria Magazine to deliver to Elizabeth II their petition against another Investiture of an English Prince of Wales, perhaps not so far down the road as most patriots appear to think.
